Fender Stratocaster 2NOV65B 1966 Lake Placid Blue Metallic -Original!
26900,00 €
A stunning classic guitar in ultra rare original custom color
The body of this guitar was once re-painted non-pro style white possibly in the late 1960`s (…Hendrix effect…). At last, that refinish was skillfully and gently removed by master guitar luthier in the late 90`s. What saw the light again -after thirty years in shade- was this awesome shimmering Lake Placid Blue Metallic finish. Minor marks of previous white refin are still visible in the neck pocket and some screw holes.
Luckily, the refin protected original LPB from turning greenish as they`ve used to…
This Stratocaster is from the transition period with still small `65 headstock. Neck stamp 2NOV65B. Serial number points to early 1966, though.
Original flawlessly working tuners, no traces/marks of any others
Original “gray bottom” pickups DC resistances: 5.9/5.8/5.9 kΩ, original 3-position pickup selector
Only volume potentiometer has been replaced to period correct one, stamped at 18/1966, original tone potentiometers are stamped at 32/1965
A wood chipping repainted recognizably in tremolo cavity under the springs
New frets, stainless steel: 6105 SS
